Angel Tree

December | Children’s names available at Hope on Sunday mornings

Angel Tree is a nationwide ministry that reaches out to the children of inmates and their families with the love of Christ. At Christmastime, volunteers from Hope purchase and deliver gifts to the children of inmates in their parent’s name. Each gift delivery also presents an opportunity to share the love and hope of Christ with each family. Through Angel Tree, these children feel a parent’s love, despite their absence. For more information about the Angel Tree ministry visit their website at www.angeltree.org. Community Events

Ongoing | See Calendar for upcoming Community Events

At Hope La Vernia we enjoy participating as a church family in a variety of local events such as the Wilson County Rodeo, Bluebonnet Parade, and Greater Park Foundation Annual BBQ Cook-Off to name a few. Additionally, we sponsor events open to our community such as our Fall Outreach in October and look forward to adding more activities in the near future.

Community Projects

Ongoing | See Calendar for upcoming Community Projects

A team of handy men and women are ready to serve when a need in our community is present. This new ministry at Hope plans to have men and women available to help one another with “fix-it” projects, repairs, installations, etc. What a great way to show Christ’s love for our neighbors and others in the community who have a project need by extending our tools, our time and our attention to help them out!

La Vernia Food Pantry

Ongoing | Saturdays | 9:00am | La Vernia Food Pantry

As a proud supporter of our local Food Pantry we provide opportunities each month to not only help out onsite, but to also donate food items assigned to our church. As a reminder, please bring in your canned meat and canned soup donations throughout the month to either the church office or to church, and fresh bread may be delivered to the church office the Friday prior to our scheduled Food Pantry Saturday. Please help us as we partner together with the La Vernia Food Pantry to meet the needs of those in our own community. See the Calendar for upcoming Food Pantry visits. Meals

Ongoing

Whether it’s the loss of a loved one, an illness, the birth of a new baby or other unique circumstances, there are times when the simple act of someone else providing a meal for you and your family can be of the greatest of help. Ministry volunteers not only prepare the meals but also deliver them along with extending their love, prayers and support during this particular time in one’s life.

Short-Term Missions Trips

Summer

Just as exciting as it is to reach out in our community with the love of Christ, so too is it to get out of our environment and go somewhere new to share Jesus with other people! Short-Term Missions Trips are anywhere from five to fifteen days long and can be to a location within or outside of the United States. The purpose of the trip is often evangelistic in nature, with attendees helping the local missionary with children and adult programs designed to tell them about God’s eternal hope. Short-Term Missions Trips also include assisting the missionary with other tasks/projects that will help spread the Good News in their area. Funds to participate in a trip are raised by each individual, though some activities, special collections, etc. will be done by Hope to help those working on their fees. Adults and youth are welcome to attend. Please contact the church office at 830.779.HOPE or This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it for more information and participation requirements.
